The salary based on 18.5hrs per week is: £11,688.30 (£23,376.60 FTE)
Base: Contractual base will be our Newport Head office
Location of work: Blaenau Gwent
Work pattern: Working days are predominately Monday to Friday but flexibility is required to meet the needs of the people we support
An Enhanced DBS is required for this role which we will pay for
26 days holiday entitlement plus Bank holidays (Pro Rata)
Where does the role fit into Pobl? Our FIPP (Family Intervention and Prevention) Project offers intensive, holistic support to families in crisis living in all tenures; the majority of families are social or private tenants. We accepts referrals from any agency, with most coming from landlords, social work, police and health visitors. We use a trauma-informed approach and are trained to carry out the Freedom Programme (for those who have experienced abusive relationships) along with parenting programmes. Between 80-90% of families have Social Services involvement; Anti-Social behaviour, truancy, interaction with the criminal justice system, substance misuse, poor home conditions and other concerns. We work with each family, exploring their own goals. We work with every parent and every child in a family, taking a coordinating role with other services to ensure the needs of the family are met. What is great about the role? It is essential that the successful candidate holds a drivers licence and has access to a car. You will act as a first point of contact and a role model for the families we support. You will provide guidance with budgeting and money management, including welfare benefits, as well as offering practical and specific support, with regards to parenting skills and Family relationships. Who we are looking for: The ideal candidate will:
Coach, mentor and motivate families to understand the benefits of parenting skills and family relationships
Tenancy support, including finding suitable accommodation
Manage money and address debts or arrears
Access and support individuals to apply for benefits
Access local community and activities
Attend appointments and meetings
Work closely with multi-agencies including social services, housing, schools, courts, youth offending services
Identify and plan support needs
Meet with individuals and families at home and within the community
Signpost to relevant services
Manage your own workload and administration
Provide practical home management and budgeting advice to parents
Build confidence and self-esteem
Support families to achieve their potential
