Our Mental Health service in Ceredigion will be varied and involve working with vulnerable people to prevent homelessness and develop skills needed to maintain their tenancies. This service specifically supports those who are experiencing mental health conditions. You will be helping people achieve their goals and make a very real and difference to their lives. What is great about the role? Our Cam Fan service is a drop-in base for anyone who needs immediate support around Housing, debt and homelessness prevention. The service engages with regular individuals attending the service for support and walk ins. The service is part funded by the health board and part funded by Housing Support Grant. You will have the opportunity as a Scheme Support Officer to engage and interact with the people we support, Deliver workshops relating to tenancy management and health & wellbeing. Arrange and carry out activities with the people we support to support them with their goals. Advising and supporting in a sensitive and practical manner and dealing with a crisis effectively and efficiently. This is an exciting opportunity for you to really make a difference to the people we support and help them, build on their confidence and skills to move into their own tenancies. You don’t always need previous experience or qualifications. A good understanding of housing related support and welfare benefits, or awareness of issues faced by people at risk of homelessness would be useful in the role. Who we are looking for:
Have knowledge of housing related support and benefit systems
Have good organisation, IT and record keeping skills
Can work part of a team and on an individual basis
Deal with difficult situations
Have good listening skills
Your day will consist of:
Engaging and interacting with the people we support
Welfare checks
Ensuring the building is secure including health & safety checks and maintaining an awareness of who is in the building
Dealing with challenging behaviours
Addressing any additional needs, the people we support may have
