Climate Action Officer - Festival & Events

OVERVIEW
The Climate Action Officer: Festivals and Events is a key role, planning and ensuring the successful delivery of festivals and events, primarily as part of the ‘Artitude: Climate, Culture, Circularity’ project. Working closely and collaboratively with the Climate Action Officer: Community Relations as part of the Producing Team at The Playhouse and with project partners the successful candidate will organise and deliver a series of creative arts Festivals and Events that engage people in making positive change towards more sustainable ways of living. We are looking for someone dynamic, highly organised and with excellent project management and communication skills. The successful candidate will have experience of delivering standout Festivals and Events, of contributing to social change through the arts and a track record of delivering engaging and memorable cultural experiences. A unique and exciting role we are open to working with people from a range of backgrounds who have the relevant key skills as well as the ability and desire to learn the full scope of the job.
PERSON SPECIFICATION
Minimum Skills, Knowledge and Experience
  • Experience and track record of effective project coordination and delivery in an arts festival, event or related initiative.
  • A passion and enthusiasm for theatre, music and the arts.
  • A creative, highly organised and self-motivated individual who works well as part of a team.
  • Experience and track record of coordinating projects with multiple partners.
  • Ability to manage a varied and diverse portfolio.
  • Experience of maintaining good relationships within an arts organisation, a charity, another third sector organisation or related role.
  • Experience of leading and supporting freelance teams successfully.
  • Experience monitoring and maintaining budgets.
  • Highly developed written and verbal communication skills.
  • Confident and highly persuasive presenter.
  • Competent and confident on MS office systems.
  • Collaborative and excellent team player.
  • A high level of emotional intelligence and empathy.
  • Strong negotiator.
  • Confident with a variety of stakeholders regardless of seniority.
  • Commitment to the mission and values of The Playhouse, this project and partners.
  • Strong awareness of and adherence to Health and Safety policy and best practice

Job Types: Full-time, Fixed term contract
Contract length: 24 months

Pay: £26,000.00-£29,000.00 per year
