An opportunity has arisen as a BANK Medical Laboratory Assistant in Cellular Pathology.

The Department of Cellular Pathology (BWH Site) provides specialist gynaecological pathology services to the Birmingham Women’s and Children's Hospital NHSF Trust, which is a Cancer Unit, and to the Regional Gynaecological Cancer Centre at City Hospital, which is part of the Pan-Birmingham Cancer Network. The Department also provides Perinatal Pathology and Placental Pathology services to BWH and other hospitals in the region and beyond.

We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated individual with previous Histology laboratory experience. Working as part of a team, you will possess excellent organisational and communication skills. You must be able to work methodically with good attention to detail, and maintain a high level of concentration. The role includes filing large numbers of glass slides containing patient tissue and so good numeracy skills are essential.

Carry out a range of technical processes within the department, as directed by other BMS staff to a high standard, strictly adhering to departmental procedures.
