Genetics Intern
The West Midlands Regional Genetics Laboratory (WMRGL), part of the Birmingham Women’s and Children’s (BWC) NHS Foundation Trust are very pleased to be able to offer this exciting opportunity to enthusiastic individuals looking to kick start their career in Healthcare Science within a specialised Genomics laboratory.
The laboratory is responsible for processing over 70,000 samples referred for genomic analysis per annum, and has consolidated a significant proportion of the wet laboratory work with our Central & South GLH consortium partners in Oxford and Wessex; processing samples for a population of approximately 12M.
The West Midlands Regional Genetics Laboratory (WMRGL) in Birmingham is now recruiting to our 6 month Internship Programme.
This is a paid opportunity to work within our lab, and is open to anyone with an interest in Laboratory Genetics. You will be part of the specimen reception team. This opportunity will give you an introduction to life in the lab and will provide you with invaluable work experience in the hospital setting.
To be eligible for this Internship you must:
Be over the age of 18
Have Maths, English and Science at GCSE level, or equivalent
Be free from any full-time study or employment from your start date and for the following 6 months
