Amentum is seeking a General Maintenance Technician for a position located on a military installation in the UAE supporting the USAF. The General Maintenance Technician will be responsible for operating, inspecting, maintaining and repairing structural components to include pre-engineered permanent, semi-permanent and temporary facilities such as tension fabric shelters, trailer offices, lodging and water closets, metal ladders, stairs, railings, structures for air conditioning units, and etc as outlined in the USAF contract.
Essential Responsibilities:
Will install, maintain and repair all assigned structural components, roofing systems, floor systems, foundations, gutter systems and surface coverings. Will also perform metal and fabric repair, fabrication work, welding support to include oxy/acetylene cutting, corrosion control, pavement painting and striping, vinyl sign production, locksmith services and form work for concrete. Must be able to remodel, refurbish or demolish existing facilities. Additionally, will install, maintain and repair protective coatings, sealants, epoxies, glues, paints and fencing. Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Position Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE: Must be a U.S. Citizen and be able to obtain and maintain a standard security clearance, if required. All structures contractors shall all have a minimum two (2) years of experience in the field of construction. Must be fully qualified to work on the USAF systems which one will be assigned to work on or must have previously obtained at least a USAF 5-level certification equivalent and possess at least three (3) years of experience as a general maintenance technician at a USAF military installation with similar mission/project in scope and nature. Must have previous experience working with engineers, engineering technicians, or industrial machinery installation, repair, and maintenance workers. Excellent organizational and time management skills. Strong computer skills, specifically in Microsoft Word and Excel. Experience with working and communicating with the Government or military personnel. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Must maintain a valid state driver license and be qualified to operate government general-purpose vehicle.
REQUIRED EDUCATION: A minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent. Three (3) years of military and/or technical training in Structures/General Maintenance Technician.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Prefer candidate to have been experienced and certified in different structure skills in the USAF.
Must be able to obtain and maintain facility credentials/authorization. Note: US Citizenship is required for facility credentials/authorization at this work location.
