Job Overview: As the Kitchen Chief Steward, you will be responsible for overseeing the overall cleanliness and sanitation of all food and beverage areas, including the kitchen, dishwashing areas, and storage facilities. You will manage a team of stewards, ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, and support the smooth operation of kitchen and banquet activities. Key Responsibilities: - Lead, train, and manage the stewarding team to maintain cleanliness, sanitation, and organization of all kitchen and food service areas. - Develop and implement cleaning schedules and procedures to ensure all equipment, utensils, and work areas are cleaned and sanitized in accordance with health and safety standards. - Collaborate with the Executive Chef and kitchen team to ensure a seamless flow of operations and proper support for kitchen activities. - Monitor inventory levels of cleaning supplies, chemicals, and kitchen equipment; place orders as needed to ensure adequate stock. - Ensure proper waste disposal and recycling procedures are followed to maintain a safe and eco-friendly environment. - Conduct regular inspections of kitchen and storage areas to ensure compliance with health department regulations and company standards. - Manage and control the stewarding budget, including labor costs, equipment maintenance, and supplies. - Handle disciplinary actions, performance evaluations, and scheduling for the stewarding team. - Work closely with the Food and Beverage Manager to coordinate banquet and event support, ensuring proper set-up and breakdown of service areas. Qualifications: - Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a supervisory role in kitchen stewarding, preferably in a high-end hotel or resort environment. - Strong knowledge of health and safety regulations, kitchen hygiene standards, and food safety protocols (HACCP certification is Mandatory). - Excellent leadership and team management skills with the ability to motivate and train staff effectively. - Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks simultaneously. - Strong organizational and communication skills. - Flexible schedule, including the ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays as required.
