The Mathematical Institute of the University of Bern is inviting applications for a Ph D position in an area of pure mathematics (Topology). The position is funded from the SNF Ambizione grant "Embedding spaces: building bridges between geometric and algebraic viewpoints". The project is lead by Danica Kosanović, and doctoral studies will be co-supervised with Sebastian Baader.
Tasks
- The objective of this Ph D project is to improve the understanding of certain objects of geometric topology.
- There will be light teaching duties, but knowledge of German is not required.
Requirements
- A masters degree in Mathematics.
- English proficiency.
- Experience with (geometric or algebraic) topology or geometry is an advantage.
