What you’ll be doing
The Business Coordinator position contributes to the organisation of the exhibition (international tours and sale exhibition) as well as the marketing (sale promotion, business development initiatives) and the expertise. The candidate will work in partnership with key stakeholders across the business, and the international Jewellery team, to ensure alignment with global marketing and tour coordination.
What your day might look like
Touring exhibition coordination
o Establish Tour calendar with Specialists and local Operations teams and communicate dates to the team
o Travel organisation and booking
o Logisitics, shipping and security coordination
o Selection of lots with specialists
o Support with creation of mini cat, display material and Marketing associated to the tour
o Partner with Ops to hire viewing assistants
Sale exhibition coordination
o Review marketing material (Signage, layout, other promo materials)
o Viewing and display coordination
o Support for incoming tours
o Recruiting and managing viewing assistants
Marketing, press and events
o Support the RMD / HOD with marketing plans
o Coordination with the marketing and press team
o Partnerships and events
o Lectures and workshops organisation
Interest meetings
o Maintain pre-sale interest list
o Organise and prepare interest meetings with RMD / HOD
o Create selling the sale documents
Expertise
o Supervise Labs and certifications
o Supervise repairs and mounts
o Includes auction and private sales items
Administration & Management
o Stock control for private sale items
o Help with lot release after the sale
o Create IBF documents for HOD
o Responsible for recruiting and management of intern
What you’ll bring to the team
o Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience in Jewellery, Gemology degree preferred.
o Minimum of 2 years paid work experience in the category.
o Knowledge of the auction business.
o Some knowledge of jewellery preferred but not compulsory.
o Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including superior written and spoken communication.
o Detail oriented with a high degree of organization and ability to multi-task, prioritizes, follow up promptly, remain calm in pressured environment.
o Willingness to work well as a team member and promote team effectiveness.
o Ability to excel within a team environment
