Artisan Welder
Fabricates and repairs of metal products using various welding techniques to support our operations in Boksburg.

- Welding locomotive components as per welding procedure.
- Operate hand and power tools.
- Set up and operate welding machines.
- Identity welding defects and repair.
- Gouging
- Read and interpret technical specifications and drawing layouts.
- Inspect welding preparations prior to welding procedure.
- Exercise skills and knowledge of welding trade qualification
- Correctly instruct, and transfer skills to any apprentice and semi-skilled worked assigned to you to ensure safety and quality of work
- House keeping duties
- Ensure and comply with safety standards guidelines, policies and procedures
- Support with adhoc operational activites to support production as and when required
MAIN REQUIRED COMPETENCES
Mandatory:
- Minimum Grade 12 / N3
- Formal Trade Qualification in Welding
Mandatory:
- At least 3 - 5 years relevant experience in GMAW (CO2)

- Ability to read and interpret engineering and technical drawings
- Ability to work to close tolerances
- Able to read and identify welding symbols on drawings
- Able to butt weld filet weld in different positions
- Competency in welding applications
- Knowledge of OSHACT
