Requirements

• A B Tech / B Eng / BSc in Civil Engineering
• 5 years’ appropriate experience as a Transport

Engineer or Planner, with relevant experience consisting

of project management, planning and design of public transport

projects

• Eligible for Professional registration with the

Engineering Council of South Africa (ECSA)

• A valid driver’s licence

Key Performance Areas

• Planning and Design of New Public Transport infrastructure
• Ensuring the effective application of design standards

procedures and methodologies.

• Coordinating and establishing multi-disciplinary project

management teams for the project planning and design

objectives

• Programming and monitoring the planning and design of

public transport infrastructure projects and ensuring that design

objectives safety and quality standards are achieved.

• Stakeholder engagement and Risk Management
• Appoint and monitor the works of service providers and

ensure service providers compliance with specifications and

ensure compliance with City of Cape Town: By-laws, policy

specification and all procedures

• Perform Procurement activities to ensure compliance to

City Procurement Policies

• Mentoring junior staff.
