What are we looking for?
We are looking for someone with the following experience, qualifications and /or skillsets:
The successful candidate will need to be flexible, have good organisational and interpersonal skills with an exemplary work ethic, drive, and attention to detail. The position reports to the Intermediate Phase Head and Head of School and works in collaboration with the academic staff.
Commitment to the school’s ethos, values and vision are essential. This position is a full time, permanent position. Curro Hillcrest Christian Academy has a strong Christian foundation, and the successful candidate must be willing to promote and support this foundation.
The ideal candidate will hold the following qualities, and be responsible for the following:
- SACE registered.
- Be an appropriately qualified Grade 7 Mathematics teacher.
- Demonstrate strong interpersonal skills, with an ability to work well in a team; whilst creating positive working relationships with respective role players.
- Good organisational and administrative skills.
- Energetic, creative, self-motivated and an innovative teacher.
- Plan, prepare and present interesting and exciting Mathematics lessons.
- Establish a teaching environment that is nurturing, and which promotes engaged learning.
- Behave in a professional manner regarding punctuality, behaviour, and standards of work.
- Evaluate, reflect on, and refine teaching practice.
- Be open to continuously develop ones teaching through personal and school wide professional development.
- Teach extra lessons, when required.
- Be fully involved in the Primary School’s extramural programme.
- Produce resources of a high standard for students.
- Respond to e-mails and telephone messages from parents within 24 hours.
- Set and mark assessments and all other forms of student evaluation.
- Write report comments.
- Attend all special occasions at the discretion of the relevant Head.
The successful candidate is required to undertake any other reasonable tasks that the Head of the School determines. Whilst every effort has been made to explain the main duties and responsibilities of the post, each individual responsibility undertaken may not be identified. The duties outlined above are not intended as a restrictive list and may be extended or altered to include other tasks that are appropriate with the role.
The successful candidate will start on 01 January 2025.
