Job Overview We are seeking an experienced Operations Manager to oversee our food manufacturing operations. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring efficient production processes, maintaining high-quality standards, and leading a team in a fast-paced environment. The Operations Manager will also be on standby during night shifts for any queries or crises that may arise. Key Performance Areas (KPAs) and Responsibilities
Production Management
Oversee daily operations and ensure production schedules are met.
Implement lean manufacturing principles to optimize production efficiency.
Monitor key production metrics and prepare reports for management.

Develop and manage production schedules in alignment with demand planning to meet customer needs.
Quality Assurance
Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and quality standards (e.g. HACCP).
Conduct regular inspections and audits of production processes.
Manage non-conformance issues and implement corrective actions.
Team Leadership and Development
Supervise and mentor production staff, promoting a culture of continuous improvement.
Develop training programs for team members to enhance skills and safety awareness.
Conduct performance evaluations and provide constructive feedback.
Inventory and Supply Chain Management
Manage inventory levels to ensure timely availability of raw materials and finished goods.
Collaborate with suppliers to negotiate contracts and maintain quality standards.
Optimize logistics and distribution processes to minimize costs.
Health and Safety Compliance
Manage health and safety protocols within the company to ensure a safe working environment.
Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and prepare for audits, addressing any potential compliance issues.
Conduct regular safety training and drills for all staff.
Investigate incidents and develop strategies to mitigate future risks.
Crisis Management
Act as the primary point of contact during night shifts for operational queries and emergencies.
Develop contingency plans for potential disruptions in production.
Ensure rapid response to equipment failures or other operational crises.
7. Financial Management o Prepare and manage the operations budget, ensuring financial targets are met. o Monitor costs and identify opportunities for cost reduction and efficiency improvements. o Analyze financial reports and provide insights to senior management. Experience, Qualifications, and Skills Required
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field.
Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in operations management within the food manufacturing industry, with at least 2 years in a leadership role.
Certifications: HACCP certification and other relevant food safety certifications preferred.
Skills:
Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, quality control, and safety regulations.
Excellent leadership and team management skills.
Proficient in data analysis and performance metrics.
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to make decisions under pressure.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Proficient in ERP systems and MS Office Suite.
Additional Requirements
Availability to be on standby during night shifts for any operational issues or emergencies.
Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays as needed.
