The MES Data Architect will be responsible to develop, implement and optimise the MES Data strategy both conceptually and logically for the company Manufacturing and Engineering processes by using proper industry standards and governance processes.

Responsibilities
Specify, design, develop and oversee the company conceptual and logical data systems focused on the MES environment to meet business requirements.
Design and implement effective database solutions and models to store, transpose structured and semi-structured data and retrieve relevant manufacturing data in a secure manner to authorised users
Facilitate and participate in scoping and requirements gathering activities with various teams throughout the various sites
Analyse data and reporting requirements to determine feasibility of design within time and costs constraints and identify gaps
Design, maintain, and support the database schemes, Master Data Repositories and interfaces
Create and maintain relevant Data Dictionary documentation, maintain data definition and catalogs to indicate the flow and source thereof throughout the organisation
Monitor system performance, troubleshoot and integrate new features and ensuring data quality is maintained through proper auditing mechanisms
Define and implement the Database Cloud Strategy for the Manufacturing Environment to leverage Cloud tools and services (Azure, AWS, Google, etc.)
Educate various stakeholders through proper training and support
Interface and establish standards for data integration with External parties
Qualifications and Desired Skills
BSc in Computer Science, Computer Engineering Degree or relevant field is required
Experience with MS SQL Server
Programming skills like R, SQL, Python and Java will be an added advantage
Experience in Aspentech IP21 or similar real-time data historians will be an advantage, including Manufacturing Master Data Management ( m MDM )
Strong knowledge of database structure systems, data modelling, metadata, security and data mining
Experience in the Industrial IT environment will be a great advantage
Exposure to Design and Visualisation tools will be an added advantage ( Power BI , Excel, Tableau, Plotly , Qlik , etc.)
