Health and Safety Officer
Safety officer
An EME based in Pretoria East, Waltloo is looking for an energetic, sharp, committed,
dedicated and disciplined professional to join their team.
The following are the minimum requirements:
1. National Diploma in Safety Management.
2. SACPCMP certification.
3. Minimum of five years’ experience in bulk materials handling.
4. Experience working with Eskom, Sasol, and in mining operations.
5. Proficient knowledge of coal plant conveyors, shuttles, and hydraulic systems.
6. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
7. Ability to work independently and as part of a team..
NB: Please attach your current payslip or expected rate.
Skills and Competencies required
1. Develop, implement, and monitor safety policies and procedures in compliance with legal requirements and industry standards.
2. Conduct regular site inspections and risk assessments to identify hazards and implement corrective measures.
3. Provide safety training and support to employees to foster a culture of safety.
4. Collaborate with management and employees to promote safe working practices.
5. Investigate accidents and incidents, prepare reports, and recommend preventive measures.
6. Ensure compliance with safety regulations and standards set by relevant authorities.
7. Liaise with external stakeholders, including regulatory bodies and clients, to ensure safety protocols are met.
