Convention Centre Manager - Eastern Cape
This International Convention Centre is a leading venue in the Eastern Cape, renowned for hosting large-scale functions, conferences, and events. We pride ourselves on delivering world-class service with a strong emphasis on food and beverage excellence. We are looking for an experienced Convention Centre Manager with a passion for events and a strong background in Food & Beverage management to join our team.

- Oversee the planning and execution of large functions, conferences, and events, ensuring they run smoothly from start to finish.
- Manage all aspects of event operations, including event setup, coordination with clients, and ensuring exceptional guest experiences.
- Lead and supervise the Food & Beverage team, ensuring high standards of quality and service for catering at events.
- Work closely with the sales and marketing team to promote the venue and attract new business.
- Develop and manage budgets, ensuring cost-effective operations without compromising on quality.
- Ensure that all events comply with health and safety regulations and venue standards.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, vendors, and stakeholders.
- Train, mentor, and lead a team of event and F&B staff to deliver outstanding service.
- Continuously monitor industry trends and competitor activity to ensure our offerings remain competitive and innovative.
- Proven experience as a Convention Centre Manager or similar role, with a strong focus on large functions and events.
- Extensive background in Food & Beverage management, particularly in high-volume event environments.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities, with a keen eye for detail.
- Ability to build and maintain client relationships, with strong communication and negotiation skills.
- Financial acumen, with experience managing budgets and controlling costs.
- Knowledge of event technology and equipment.
- Familiarity with health and safety regulations, particularly in a hospitality/event setting.
- Availability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays, as required by events.
