The purpose of the Electrician is to inspect, maintain and repair electrical equipment within the plant as well as perform shutdown work. All activities, roles and responsibilities are aligned to the world class (manufacturing) philosophy, principles and practices.

Qualifications

• Matric ( with Maths and Science)
• N2 or N3 Engineering
• Trade Certificate :Specific Artisan (Red Seal) - Electrical

Experience

• 5 Years’ Experience in Plant Maintenance Environment as an Electrician

• Practical execution of the OHS Act and Regulations regarding to Machinery.
• Fault Finding of single and 3 phase electrical motor control circuits.
• Installation and commission of electrical motors
• MCC inspections – IR and hot connections.
• Maintenance of electrical safety equipment on rotating electrical equipment.
• Good understanding of DOL, VSD, Soft starter and Simocode motor control systems.
• Experience with WEG motors, VSD’s, Siemens Simocodes.
• Electrical Safety, isolation and De-isolation of electrical circuits.
• Computer Literate
