- Direct and control all production employees to ensure that they are appropriately motivated and trained and carry their responsibilities to the required standards. - Oversee the production process, drawing up a production schedule; - Ensure that the production is cost effective; - Ensure Production KPI’s and throughput objectives are met. - Decide what resources are required; - Draft a timelines for the job; - Estimate costs and set the quality standards; - Monitor the production processes and adjust schedules as needed; - Be responsible for the selection and maintenance of equipment; - Monitor product standards and implement quality-control programs; - Liaise among different departments to endure smooth operation, I.e: suppliers, managers; - Work with managers to implement the company's policies and goals; - Ensure that health and safety guidelines are followed; - Review worker performance and take corrective action as required and as per policy; - Identify training needs where required. - Develop and implement all necessary policies and procedures to ensure that the production functions achieve their business objectives. - Develop and control the budget for the production department to ensure that the department has all the resources required to meet its objectives within agreed financial parameters. - Direct and control the production function to ensure that finished goods of the required standard are available to customers within agreed costs and at the right times. - Identify and implement quality improvement programs to improve the cost effectiveness of the production process. - Maintain all necessary records to ensure effective monitoring of the production process. - Develop all necessary policies and procedures while ensuring that a safe and healthy working environment is maintained at all company sites. - Recommends new production process, machinery or systems that will lead to improved efficiency. - Set the pricing for the projects on hand. - Resolving the clients problems resulting from manufacturing - Dispatch confirmed orders to contactors, and follow up on timeline and deadline. - Check quality and approve finished items - Handle all procurements from suppliers local and abroad. - Approve invoices from Contractors and submit direct costing to Accounting. - Prepare quotations for customized items to customers - Meet clients at the plant or on sites and collect information for customization as required. - Maintain production and inventory records. - Ensure that weekly/monthly reports as required. - Communicate effectively production targets and priorities to production team. - Submit the budget for production and maintenance to control costs.
