Head Waiter/Waitress
Job Summary: The Head Waiter/Waitress is responsible for overseeing the dining experience and managing the waitstaff team to ensure exceptional service. This role involves coordinating dining room operations, assisting guests, and maintaining high standards of service and cleanliness.
Key Responsibilities:
Supervise Staff: Lead, train, and mentor waitstaff, ensuring all team members adhere to service standards and procedures.
Guest Relations: Greet and seat guests, ensuring a warm and welcoming atmosphere. Address guest inquiries and concerns promptly and professionally.
Order Management: Take and relay orders accurately, ensuring timely service and communication with the kitchen.
Quality Control: Monitor food presentation and service quality, ensuring that meals are served according to restaurant standards.
Coordination: Organize and oversee the flow of service in the dining area, coordinating with kitchen staff and other departments.
Inventory Management: Assist in inventory management, including ordering and restocking supplies as necessary.
Training and Development: Conduct training sessions for new staff, providing guidance on service techniques, menu knowledge, and company policies.
Billing and Payments: Handle billing and payments, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in transactions.
Health and Safety Compliance: Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, maintaining a clean and safe environment for guests and staff.
Team Collaboration: Work closely with management to implement new policies, menu changes, and special events.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent; a degree in hospitality management or a related field is preferred.
Previous experience as a waiter/waitress, with at least 2-3 years in a supervisory role.
Strong knowledge of food and beverage service techniques and industry standards.
Excellent English language, Arabic language is preferred.
Excellent communication and leadership skills.
Proven ability to work effectively in a high-pressure environment.
Familiarity with POS systems and basic computer skills.
