Barista

Job Summary:
As a Barista, you will be responsible for preparing and serving high-quality coffee and beverages, providing excellent customer service, and creating a welcoming atmosphere for guests. This role requires a passion for coffee, strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Beverage Preparation: Prepare and serve a variety of coffee drinks, teas, and specialty beverages according to established recipes and quality standards.
  • Customer Service: Greet customers warmly, take orders, and provide recommendations based on individual preferences.
  • Cash Handling: Process payments accurately and efficiently, handle cash, and operate the point-of-sale (POS) system.
  • Maintain Cleanliness: Keep the coffee bar and seating areas clean and organized, including washing dishes and sanitizing equipment.
  • Inventory Management: Assist in monitoring inventory levels and restocking supplies as needed, including coffee beans, syrups, and pastries.
  • Quality Control: Ensure that all beverages are prepared to high standards and adjust brewing techniques as necessary for consistency.
  • Customer Engagement: Foster a friendly atmosphere by engaging with customers, sharing knowledge about coffee, and creating a sense of community.
  • Team Collaboration: Work closely with other staff members to ensure smooth operations and provide assistance as needed.
  • Training: Assist in training new baristas on beverage preparation, equipment operation, and customer service standards.
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional training in hospitality or food service is a plus.
  • Previous experience as a barista or in a customer service role is preferred.
  • Basic knowledge of coffee brewing techniques and equipment.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
