Job Summary: We are seeking a passionate and experienced Head Barista with a strong background in specialty coffee to lead our coffee bar team and training program. The Head Barista - Trainer will be responsible for crafting exceptional coffee beverages, maintaining high standards of quality, providing outstanding customer service, and leading the training and development of our barista team. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of specialty coffee, a passion for teaching and sharing knowledge, and a commitment to providing a memorable coffee experience for our customers. Responsibilities:
Prepare and serve a wide range of specialty coffee beverages, demonstrating mastery of espresso extraction, milk steaming, latte art, and manual brewing methods. Stay up-to-date on the latest coffee trends and techniques, continuously expanding your knowledge of specialty coffee.
Develop and implement a comprehensive training program for new and existing baristas, covering coffee knowledge, brewing techniques, customer service, and coffee bar operations. Conduct regular training sessions, provide ongoing feedback and mentorship, and assess barista performance.
Establish and maintain rigorous quality control standards for all coffee beverages, ensuring consistency and adherence to our high standards. Calibrate and maintain coffee brewing equipment to ensure optimal performance.
Lead by example in providing exceptional customer service, ensuring that all customers feel welcome, informed, and satisfied with their coffee experience.
Assist in managing the daily operations of the coffee bar, including inventory management, ordering supplies, scheduling, and maintaining cleanliness and organization.
Contribute to the development of new coffee beverages and seasonal specials, showcasing your creativity and knowledge of specialty coffee.
Qualifications:
Will be ready and available to start by August - September 2024
Can speak English well, and Arabic (preferred)
Minimum of 3-5 years of experience as a barista, with a proven track record of expertise in specialty coffee preparation and training.
Advanced coffee brewing skills, including espresso extraction, milk steaming, latte art, and manual brewing methods. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills. Strong teaching and mentoring abilities. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and maintain composure under pressure.
In-depth knowledge of coffee origins, roast levels, brewing methods, flavor profiles, coffee equipment maintenance, and industry best practices.
SCA (Specialty Coffee Association) certifications or equivalent qualifications are strongly preferred.
