Junior Consultant in Forensic Technology and Anti-Money Laundering Technologies
Job Description & Summary
The Opportunity
Pw C is on the cutting-edge in current trends in fraud and forensic investigations and serves as a quality-focused liaison between our clients and the law. We provide leading technology and expertise in data driven support of complex litigation cases and business issues, allowing our clients and their counsel to make informed, strategic decisions. The services which we support are wide-ranging and include dispute resolution, fraud and other financial investigations, anti-money laundering, construction claims, licensing examinations and insurance claim reviews.
Forensic Technology Solutions (FTS) is a sub-service line within the Forensic practice of Pw C Romania. The technical specialists within FTS deal with two parallel tiers: (i) capturing, consolidating and interrogating massive volumes of structured data (e.g., financial systems) and unstructured data (e.g., emails and user documents) in order to assist our clients navigate through a fraud-related crisis and (ii) analysis of the financial crime operating models from a technical perspective in financial institutions and identification of areas for improvement.

This covers a broad range of topics, from data collection, processing and review and digital forensics to application of regulatory requirements into practice, fine tuning of IT systems, assessing data quality to performing advanced analytics. What you will be doing:

A university degree with the background in information technology, cybernetics, mathematics or other related technical discipline with the mixture of economics;
-
A minimum one year experience within the technology, financial services or other related industries;
-
Good command of spoken and written English ;
-
At least basic knowledge of programming languages such as SQL, R or Python (or any data manipulation language);
-
Willingness to learn, take initiative and try new things;
-
Strong communication and prioritization skills;
-
Strong teamwork skill;
-
Knowledge of financial services environment is a plus;
-
Intermediate to advanced German knowledge is a plus;
-
Openness to travel.
What we need from you:

You will work on real client projects, focusing on supporting banks, regulatory bodies and clients from various industries to identify, stop and prevent money laundering, fraud or other financial and white collar crimes;

You will be involved in both tiers of our team:
-
Electronic discovery, digital forensics and forensic data analytics on a variety of cases, which imply i maging suspect's computers, recovering deleted files, extracting relevant documents from the images using various forensically sound tools , with a view to further analyze the information contained within the forensic image, to substantiate in relation to different scenarios, in line with the allegations raised case by case and

Analysis of the current set up of financial crime operating models in financial institutions and identification of points for improvement.

You will help in preparing working papers that will serve in preparing the reports presented to our clients and other parties;

Understand and follow workplace policies and procedures;

Data Analysis operations include working with relational databases, analytical and statistical packages / tools - such as SQL Server, Alteryx, and Power BI , and also using programming languages such as Python, Javascript and R to analyze data in support of investigations, litigations and other engagements;
