Key Responsibilities:
- Perform and develop techniques related to environmental and health monitoring programs.
- Coordinate ordering and inventory updates for the lab with technicians and plan the lab budget.
- Conduct training and seminars related to the field of expertise.
Imaging Responsibilities:
- Adjust and maintain imaging equipment.
- Follow imaging requests from the Manager precisely to ensure the correct areas are imaged.
- Prepare animals for imaging and position them along with the equipment to capture accurate images.
- Operate computerized equipment to acquire the required images.
- Collaborate with the operational manager, veterinarian, and researchers to evaluate the images and determine if additional imaging is necessary.
- Keep detailed and accurate records.
- Interpret and report image results when applicable.
- Consistently demonstrate a high level of work quality.
Compliance and Safety Responsibilities:
- Monitor, adjust, create, and validate test methods to ensure they are current and compliant with AAALAC requirements.
- Order and maintain necessary materials and consumables for the MRI unit.
- Develop risk assessment plans and procedures for preventing and managing accidents in the laboratory area.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Perform other tasks and duties as needed to meet the requirements of the role and the goals of the University.
Qualifications
- BSc in Physics or a related discipline, with advanced training in MRI imaging and diagnostic reporting.
- Proficiency in computer skills.
- Experience in database management.
- Expertise in inventory and lab stock management.
