• Executive Pastry Chef – Lagos, Nigeria

We are looking for an exceptional Executive Pastry Chef to lead an extensive pastry operation at one of the largest hospitality establishments in Lagos, Nigeria. This is a unique opportunity to manage a large bakery and pastry team, oversee multiple restaurants, and handle impressive banqueting facilities.
Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee the entire pastry operation, including a large bakery and pastry team, ensuring high standards of quality and presentation.
• Develop and innovate a diverse range of pastry and bakery items for multiple restaurant outlets and large-scale functions.
• Manage and coordinate the production of pastries and desserts for events and functions, serving over 1,500 guests.
• Maintain stringent quality control, ensuring consistency and excellence in all pastry products.
• Lead, mentor, and train a team of pastry professionals, fostering a collaborative and high-performance environment.
• Collaborate with the culinary team to integrate pastry offerings with the overall dining experience.
• Manage inventory, procurement, and cost control to maintain budgetary targets.
• Implement and uphold health, safety, and sanitation standards in the kitchen.

Qualifications:

• Proven experience as an Executive Pastry Chef or in a similar senior pastry role within a large-scale operation.
• Extensive experience managing a significant pastry and bakery team.
• Demonstrated ability to create and deliver high-quality pastries and desserts for multiple outlets and large events.
• Strong leadership and team management skills, with a track record of mentoring and developing staff.
• Excellent organisational, creative, and problem-solving abilities.
• Familiarity with high-volume operations and large-scale function management.
• Formal culinary qualifications in pastry arts or a related field are preferred.
• Fluency in English is required.
