About the role:
R&D Technical Services comprises both internal-oriented as well as customer-oriented services such as pilot production trials, product application trials, sample shipments and technical advice to customers. The Technical Services team interacts with other R&D teams such as the R&D Product Experts team (product focus), the Customer R&D team (application and customer focus) and the R&D Lifecycle Management team. The Technical Services team also aligns and collaborates with (technical) sales and marketing in providing services towards customers. Within this team, the R&D Technical Services Expert is instrumental for assuring customer proximity, both on the level of troubleshooting and technical audits on the customers’ lines as well as on the side of providing technical training to customers and their operators. This is a key role towards customer proximity, so a professional and pro-active collaboration with the customer is key The role touches many internal stakeholders (e.g. sales, customer R&D, QA, supply chain) so good stakeholder management is a must. Traveling is an important aspect of the role (within the focus region, if needed within EMEA)

Key responsibilities:
- Technical Support: Provide expert technical support for existing and new customers across various segments (confectionery, bakery, ice cream, dairy).
- Customer Visits: Visit customer manufacturing facilities to solve issues and support product start-up on their lines.
- Collaboration: Work with customer R&D and product teams to recommend the right product range based on their manufacturing environment.
- Training: Deliver technical training to customers and internal colleagues.
- Problem-Solving: Lead troubleshooting efforts and ensure resolution of customer application problems.
- Advisory Role: Advise on product application and suitable equipment, while staying up-to-date with technological advancements.
- Lab Trials: Guide and assist during lab trials for customer applications.
About you:
- Experience: 2-3 years in Food Science, Chemistry, Microbiology, Quality Assurance, or related fields.
- Product Knowledge: Strong experience in product development and application, especially with chocolate, compounds, and fillings.
- Technical Expertise: Hands-on experience with processing lines for various customer applications.
- Project Management: Experience managing projects effectively.
- Software Skills: Proficient in MS Office and database management for reporting and presentations.
- Communication: Excellent listening and communication skills with a customer-focused and solution-oriented approach.
- Collaboration: Team player, open to knowledge sharing and collaboration.
- Autonomy: Comfortable working independently.
- Language Skills: Fluent in Business English; knowledge of local languages is a plus.
- Travel & Requirements: 50% travel required; driving license required.
