About the role:
The Supplier Quality Engineer (SQE) local is responsible for coordinating suppliers and verifying quality standards in accordance with the requirements of the site. The incumbent is in charge of performing regular supplier audits to ensure compliance with regulatory standards, as well as actively participating in local supplier quality development initiatives and projects, based on agreed quality control plans.
Execute supplier product and process verification within specified sourcing projects and in accordance with defined process
Participate in projects /cost saving projects as quality representative
Perform Supplier Quality Audits for local suppliers and give input to the Supplier Approval process
Keep track on the market for different and more cost effective production techniques. Suggest most suitable production technique for new parts
Constantly evaluate existing parts within specified commodity in order to find more effective production methods
Participate in new product development projects
Actively evaluate supplier quality performance at site for suppliers within specified commodity and take action to increase supplier quality where necessary.
When needed participate in supplier negotiations
Lead/Monitor quality status & sampling activities (PPAP) on savings/XPD projects
Manage high impact suppliers' quality issues
Implement and monitor supplier quality KPI & metrics
Support the journey encouraging others to take accountability for building our quality culture
Continuously improve our processes and systems of working for supplier quality
Reporting, presenting and coaching others as required
Qualifications:
At least University degree in Engineering or equivalent
Good knowledge of, and at least 5 years’ experience of engineering industry
Lean six sigma or CI experience desired
Good knowledge in manufacturing techniques and processes
Problem solving approach
Good coaching skills
Attention to detail
Influencing skills and business partnership
Fluent in oral and written English (is a must)
Valid driver’s license, passport.
Additional Information:
Occasionally travelling to factories, dust/loud/slippery environment (25% of work)
Ability to travel is required by the position
1 day home office per week
