About the role:
The R&D Technologist assists more experienced Product Expert Managers/Specialists and/or Global R&D Discover Program Managers/Specialists in their assignments. This role performs a variety of tasks such as the preparation of simple plans, designs, calculations, and costs of material by established codes, standards, and procedures. The R&D Technologist assists the product development activities and/or innovation initiatives by coordinating with external and internal parties, providing reports on product development/innovation projects, and executing additional tasks assigned by the management team. The R&D Technologist gets guidance and support from the Product Expert Manager and/or Global R&D Program Manager on more complex activities, ad hoc requests, and issues in the execution of his duties.
Key responsibilities:
- Request Internal and External Sensory Tests with QA, e.g. Perform Panel Tests.
- Support Process Engineer During Industrial trials when required.
- Collaborate with Subcontractors for NPi at their Facilities.
- Assess and Approve Usability of Existing Raw Material, Label and Packaging.
- Analyse Customer or Competitor sample.
- Define primary, secondary, and tertiary packaging requirements, Define the layout and content of the label, and request new packaging information/specs to the supplier.
- Define recipe requirements based on customer specs, reference material, and in collaboration with internal colleagues.
- Create recipes and perform provisionally checks.
- Analyse test results and evaluate packaging & label prototypes.
- Prepare and validate technical sheet.
About you
- Master's Degree in Science/Engineering or similar, preferably in a food science discipline.
- 2-3 years of experience in R&D.
- Experience in Project Management.
- Good knowledge of working tools (MS Office, SAP).
- Fluent Business English and German is a plus.
- Team player and comfortable working with a hybrid team based in different locations.
- Excellent analytical skills.
