A Day in the Life
EMEA Trade Operations is responsible for the strategic development, implementation, and monitoring of a standardized trade program that ensures Medtronic’s international flow of goods is in line with customs laws and regulations. The EMEA Trade Associate Analyst plays a vital role in contributing to this mission through the continuous execution, maintenance, and improvement of internal audits that uphold compliance with both the requirements of the European Union (EU) Authorized Economic Operator (AEO) status and Medtronic Global Trade standards.
This role will be hybrid that would require ad-hoc travel to the Warsaw Office with potential travel to the Netherlands office a few times a year.
Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned:
- Perform regular internal audits to verify compliance with customs regulations and meet AEO requirements
- Verify the accuracy and completeness of trade-related documents, including customs declarations, invoices, bills of lading, and other import/export supporting documents
- Collect, analyse, and interpret trade data and utilize SAP ECC and GTS for audits and reporting
- Document findings from audits and prepare detailed audit reports for brokers and management, clearly outlining issues, risks, and recommended actions
- Develop and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) related to audit results and broker performances. Track these metrics to identify trends and areas for improvement
- Work closely with Import/Export Brokerage Teams to ensure all audit findings are addressed to brokers, corrective actions are recommended and followed up
- Ensure that all audit documentation is properly archived and retained in accordance with regulatory requirements, to support future audits or inspections
Required Knowledge and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in international Trade, Customs, Supply Chain, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field
- 1-2 years of relevant working experience
- Proficient with MS Excel – data analysis, VLOOKUP, data manipulation, pivot tables, formulas and macros
- High attention to detail with the ability to handle complex documentation within deadlines
- Have high commitment to ethical behaviour and integrity
- Strong written, interpersonal and communication skills; English is required and other languages a plus
Experience in international trade or customs, familiarity with SAP or other ERP systems, being a team player with a positive attitude and open mindset are the preferred qualifications.
