Utility Personnel
Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Clean and sanitize office spaces, including workstations, conference rooms, restrooms, and common areas.
- Dust and wipe down surfaces such as desks, tables, countertops, and office equipment.
- Vacuum, sweep, and mop floors to maintain a clean and tidy environment.
- Empty trash cans, recycling bins, and other waste containers, ensuring proper disposal of waste.
- Replace liners in waste bins and ensure that trash areas are clean and odor-free.
- Monitor recycling practices and ensure proper separation and disposal of recyclable materials.
- Clean and disinfect restrooms, including sinks, toilets, mirrors, and floors.
- Replenish restroom supplies, such as soap, paper towels, and toilet paper.
- Report any plumbing or maintenance issues in restrooms to the Office Manager.
- Monitor inventory levels of cleaning supplies and request replenishments as needed.
- Ensure cleaning tools and equipment are properly maintained and stored.
- Keep cleaning supply storage areas organized and tidy.
- Clean and sanitize kitchen areas, including countertops, sinks, appliances, and tables.
- Empty and clean the refrigerator, ensuring that expired items are disposed of regularly.
- Replenish kitchen supplies, such as dish soap, paper towels, and napkins.
- Clean and polish office windows, glass doors, and partitions to remove smudges and fingerprints.
- Ensure that all glass surfaces are streak-free and clear.
- Assist with minor repairs or maintenance tasks as needed, such as changing light bulbs or fixing small fixtures.
- Report any larger maintenance or repair needs to the Office Manager or Facility Manager.
- Perform deep cleaning tasks on a regular basis, such as carpet shampooing, upholstery cleaning, and floor waxing.
- Assist with setup and cleanup for office events, meetings, or special occasions.
- Follow all safety protocols and guidelines while performing cleaning tasks, including the proper use of cleaning chemicals and equipment.
- Ensure that cleaning practices comply with company policies and health regulations.
- Perform additional cleaning or housekeeping tasks as assigned by the Office Manager or Facility Manager.
- Assist with organizing and maintaining other office areas, such as storage rooms or supply closets.
Job Requirements:
- Previous experience in housekeeping, janitorial work, or a similar role is preferred.
- Knowledge of cleaning techniques, tools, and chemicals.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness.
- Physical stamina to perform cleaning tasks, including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
- Good communication skills for interacting with office staff and reporting issues.
Working Conditions:
- Work is primarily indoors in an office environment.
- May require early morning, evening, or weekend hours depending on the office’s schedule and needs.
- Physical work involving cleaning tasks, with exposure to cleaning chemicals and equipment.
