We are seeking for a detail-oriented Truck Dispatcher with excellent communication skills and a strong understanding of logistics in the transportation industry. You will play a vital role in coordinating the movement of dry vans, reefers, and flatbeds, scheduling drivers to deliver or collect freight, communicating with our customers to record their requirements, planning and adjusting routes. Your ability to work effectively with both brokers and clients, as well as your experience with loadboards, including DAT, will be essential to your success in this role. To ensure success as a Truck Dispatcher, you should exhibit extensive experience in dispatching trucks, organizational skills and the ability to work under pressure. Key Responsibilities:
Scheduling drivers to make freight deliveries or collect shipments and packages.
Ability to negotiate rates
Communicating with customers about freight details, delivery or pickup times, and special handling requests.
Planning pre-determined routes and accommodating route changes as needed.
Preparing and collecting dispatch documents, bills of lading, receipts .
Maintaining records of dispatched calls, driver routes, route changes, as well as delivery and pickup times.
Keeping track of Department of Transportation regulations and laws to ensure that truck drivers comply.
Reviewing drivers’ logs, including dispatched calls and arrival times.
Monitoring truck repairs and maintenance schedules.
Logging customer shipping schedules and complaints.
Requirements:
Experience in dispatch or logistics industry, reefers and dryvans.
Exceptional ability to schedule drivers, plan routes, and dispatch drivers to customer locations.
Familiarity with loadboards, including DAT, Truck Stop and other loadboard platforms.
Experience with Transportation Management Software (TMS), such as Samsara or other ELD platforms.
Proficiency in office software, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook Express.
Ability to monitor drivers' logs, truck maintenance schedules, and repairs.
Knowledge of USA geography and applicable transportation regulations and laws.
Excellent organizational, communication, and time management skills.
