Job Summary The Line Cook is responsible for preparing high-quality food items according to standardized recipes and specifications. This role involves working closely with the kitchen team to ensure efficient operations and timely production of food orders while maintaining a clean and organized workspace. Responsibilities
Prepare and cook menu items in accordance with established recipes and presentation standards.
Follow proper portion control, food safety, and sanitation procedures.
Assist with the preparation of mise en place and ensure ingredients are properly stored and rotated.
Operate various kitchen equipment, such as grills, fryers, ovens, and steamers, to prepare dishes.
Coordinate with other kitchen team members to ensure timely preparation and delivery of food orders.
Monitor food cooking times and temperatures to ensure quality and safety standards are met.
Inspect food products and ingredients for freshness and quality.
Taste and evaluate dishes for seasoning, flavor, and texture before serving.
Assist in maintaining food inventory levels and ordering supplies as needed.
Maintain a clean and organized work area, including proper storage and labeling of food products.
Adhere to kitchen safety and sanitation standards, including proper handling of knives and other kitchen tools.
Assist in cleaning and maintaining kitchen equipment and utensils.
Work closely with kitchen staff, including sous chefs, prep cooks, and dishwashers, to ensure smooth operation and teamwork.
Communicate effectively with front-of-house staff to ensure accurate order preparation and timely service.
Assist in training and mentoring new kitchen team members as needed.
