Job Summary: The Fresh Manager is responsible for overseeing the operations of the fresh food department, including produce, meat, seafood, and bakery sections. This role involves managing inventory, ensuring quality and freshness of products, leading a team, and providing exceptional customer service. The Fresh Manager plays a key role in driving sales, maintaining high standards, and achieving department goals.
Key Responsibilities:

• Department Management:
• Oversee daily operations of the fresh food department, including produce, meat, seafood, and bakery sections.
• Ensure that all fresh products meet company standards for quality and freshness.
• Manage inventory levels, including ordering, stocking, and rotation of products to minimize waste and ensure product availability.
• Team Leadership:
• Supervise, train, and motivate a team of fresh food associates, including scheduling and assigning tasks.
• Conduct performance evaluations and provide feedback to team members.
• Foster a positive work environment and address any employee concerns or issues.
• Customer Service:
• Provide exceptional customer service by addressing inquiries, resolving issues, and assisting with product selection.
• Implement and maintain customer service standards to enhance the shopping experience.
• Develop and execute promotional activities and events to drive sales and attract customers.
• Quality Control and Compliance:
• Monitor product quality and freshness, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.
• Implement and enforce procedures for proper handling, storage, and sanitation of fresh products.
• Conduct regular inspections to ensure adherence to food safety standards and company policies.
• Sales and Performance:
• Analyze sales data and trends to develop strategies for increasing sales and improving department performance.
• Set and achieve department goals related to sales, profitability, and customer satisfaction.
• Collaborate with the store manager to plan and execute merchandising and promotional strategies.
• Inventory Management:
• Manage ordering and replenishment of fresh products to maintain optimal inventory levels.
• Track and analyze inventory turnover, and adjust ordering practices to reduce spoilage and waste.
• Coordinate with suppliers and vendors to ensure timely delivery of products.
• Administrative Duties:
• Prepare and maintain accurate records of inventory, sales, and employee performance.
• Handle administrative tasks such as budgeting, scheduling, and reporting.
• Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures, including those related to cash handling and security.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Management, Culinary Arts, or a related field is preferred.
• Proven experience in retail management, with a strong focus on fresh food departments, including produce, meat, seafood, or bakery.
• In-depth knowledge of fresh food handling, quality standards, and food safety regulations.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to analyze sales data, manage inventory, and develop effective strategies.
