Job Overview: Business Development is tasked to oversee the following for total food (Meat and Non-Meat): Industry Analysis, Category and Product Segmentation, Identification of new food segments/categories for the company to enter, Make/grow or Buy Decision Making, RM/Equipment Investments, Product Portfolio Management, Revenue and Profitability Projections, RM and Supply Projections and, Programs and Directions to meet category targets. Key Responsibilities: · Map the food industry and set long-term projections or revenue and profitability per entry to market. · Gather all required data and create Business Case Studies for all investments pertaining to market entry per food segment (Meat and non-meat). · Create a brand portfolio that caters to the different channels with different needs (Traded Items/Processed Items for Food Service / Traded Retails items / Processed Retail items). · Create unique need-based product portfolio that caters to the target market’s priority product values. · Oversee in-house growing of meat items as well as local sourcing and manufacturing of non-meat products. · Works closely with Category Management and Purchasing on buy o produce analysis based on consumer/customer demand. · Oversees Category Management Team on continuous improvement and value-adding on the product portfolio. · Weekly foreign and local price monitoring and forecasting. · Weekly sales and GP forecasting vis a vis Inventory and incoming items. · Sets strategic pricing based on internal and external supply as well as the increase/decrease of category demand. · Offers target-based programs to clients that will exponentially increase absolute profit. · Deliver targeted revenue of 150 million/month or as discussed on an annual basis. · Reach gross profit target of 15% or as discussed on an annual basis. · Manage days of inventory not exceeding 2 months. · Development of new product/s. · Creation of opportunities and business segments. QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE Education: · Bachelor’s degree in marketing, Business Administration and other related courses. Experience: · Experience in building commercial relationships to help deliver improved service and innovation to the customer. · Experience in Fast-Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) is a preferred. Competency Requirements: · With an existing network of contacts. · Detailed knowledge of marketing and business development (strategic and tactical). · Ability to prioritize workload and meet deadlines. · Ability to seek and develop new relationships to achieve strategic business objectives. · Ability to convert client relationships into opportunities for the business. · Ability to contribute to the development of strategy and take responsibility for delivering strategic objectives. · Recognize changing market forces that may impact upon own or customers business and put plans into action to make a positive contribution. · Ability to work effectively as a member of different teams both internally and externally. SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES Communication & Interpersonal Skills · Strong communication skills. He must also be able to do cold call prospects with confidence to gain new clients. Management and Collaboration Skills · Must be able to build relationships, influence, manage conflicts and navigate through office politics to get things done. Negotiation & Persuasion Skills · This includes always being tactful and diplomatic and achieving set goals. Project Management Skills · Must be able to set goals, plan and manage projects, manage the risks involved, calculate budgets, cost, time and teams working on ongoing projects. Analytical Skills · Must have strong research and strategic analysis skills. These are necessary in order to benchmark the competition and keep the company ahead of it. Computer and Software Skills · Excellent computer skills must have high competency working with Microsoft Office. Even CRM software is a must. Business Intelligence · Conduct necessary market analysis needed to identify the company’s current position. He will conduct an analysis of what competitive advantage the company has over similar businesses in the sector.
