Job Overview: The Bartender is responsible for providing high-quality beverage service to guests, preparing and serving drinks, and creating a welcoming and enjoyable atmosphere at the bar. This role involves mixing and serving alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, maintaining cleanliness, and ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations. Key Responsibilities:
Prepare and serve a variety of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, including cocktails, beers, wines, and soft drinks.
Follow standard recipes and presentation guidelines to ensure consistency and quality.
Engage with guests to understand their drink preferences and make recommendations.
Provide exceptional service to guests by being attentive, friendly, and professional.
Handle guest inquiries and resolve any issues or complaints promptly and courteously.
Create a welcoming and enjoyable atmosphere at the bar.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the bar area, including countertops, equipment, and utensils.
Ensure that all bar supplies are stocked and reordered as needed.
Monitor and manage the inventory of alcoholic beverages and other bar supplies.
Adhere to all relevant health, safety, and hygiene regulations, including responsible alcohol service.
Check identification to verify legal drinking age and refuse service to intoxicated or underage individuals.
Follow procedures for the safe handling and storage of alcohol and other beverages.
Accurately handle cash, credit, and debit card transactions, and process payments using the point-of-sale (POS) system.
Ensure that all financial transactions are recorded accurately and that the cash drawer is balanced.
Clean and sanitize bar equipment, glassware, and utensils regularly.
Dispose of waste and manage recycling in accordance with company policies.
Work closely with other bartenders, servers, and kitchen staff to ensure smooth operation and efficient service.
Assist in training new bar staff and provide support to colleagues as needed.
Assist in the preparation and execution of special events, such as parties and functions, as required.
Collaborate with event coordinators to ensure the successful delivery of beverages and service.
Qualifications: · High school diploma or equivalent; certification in bartending or mixology · Minimum of 1 year of experience in bartending or a related field. · Excellent knowledge of all beverage products · Previous point of sale system experience an asset · Excellent communication and organizational skills · Strong interpersonal and problem-solving abilities · Highly responsible & reliable · Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment · Ability to work cohesively with fellow colleagues as part of a team · Ability to focus attention on guest needs, remaining calm and courteous at all times · Availability to work nights, weekends, and holidays. · Positive, engaging personality, and professional appearance. · Eye for detail and understanding of drink-mixing tools and techniques.
