To excel in this Internship, you must have a genuine enthusiasm for problem-solving and decision-making based on factual information. We are looking for someone eager to apply their knowledge and experiences to help enhance and manage our AR workflows. Flexibility and a willingness to learn new tools and processes are crucial. A solid understanding of US and Canadian invoicing rules is important, and familiarity with US sales tax is required. Knowledge of VAT and withholding tax is a plus.
In this role, you will provide vital support to the VP of Corporate Controller and the Order Operations Manager. You will assist in managing daily operations and contribute to the continuous improvement of our processes. This includes supporting system upgrades and refining our controls to ensure they remain effective and scalable as we integrate new companies into our portfolio.
As an AR & Order Management Intern, you will:
- Assist with invoicing processes and ensure accuracy in customer billing and shipping information.
- Support data entry and maintenance to keep customer records up-to-date.
- Contribute to collections efforts and follow up on outstanding invoices.
- Collaborate with team members to enhance and streamline AR processes.
- Help with system improvements and integration projects related to business acquisitions.
- Provide support to the AR team and learn about various AR and order management functions.
- Assist in other ad-hoc projects as needed.
You are a strong fit for this role if you have:
- Bachelor’s degree (BA/BS); concentration in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Strong interest in accounts receivable and order management.
- Basic knowledge of US invoicing rules and sales tax is desirable.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including familiarity with pivot tables and basic functions.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
- Willingness to learn new tools and processes.
- Prior internship or work experience in an office setting is a plus but not required.
