We are looking for a motivated Billing Intern to join our team and gain hands-on experience in billing and financial operations. In this role, you will assist with various billing tasks, support our invoicing processes, and contribute to the overall efficiency of our billing department. This internship offers a valuable opportunity to learn about billing systems and practices in a dynamic work environment.
As a Billing Intern, you will:
- Assist with the creation and renewal of subscriptions and process invoices accurately.
- Handle credit memos and adjustments to customer accounts as needed.
- Review and amend order forms and purchase orders during subscription creation/renewal.
- Maintain and track accounts to ensure timely invoicing.
- Upload invoices to vendor portals and manage related tasks.
- Resolve customer billing issues through cases, email, and internal escalation channels within service level agreements (SLAs).
- Support internal teams by providing billing-related information and assistance.
- Contribute to month-end closing activities and ensure timely completion of related tasks.
- Conduct account audits and research to ensure correct billing, subscription, and invoicing actions.
- Maintain billing policies and procedures to ensure compliance with company and regulatory guidelines.
- Provide training and support to internal teams on billing processes and policies.
- Participate in special projects such as system upgrades, process improvements, and data analysis.
- Familiarity with business systems such as Salesforce, Zuora, and Net Suite is desirable.
- Adhere to predefined standard operating procedures (SOPs) and workflows.
You are a strong fit for this role if you have:
- Bachelor’s degree (BA/BS); concentration in Accounting, Business or related field preferred but not required.
- Basic understanding of accounts, billing, or customer support processes.
- Strong English communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to work cross-functionally and handle financial information accurately.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
- Experience with enterprise billing platforms (e.g., Zuora, Pay Pal, Stripe) is a plus.
- API knowledge is an added advantage.
