Summary
As a Barista at Shangri-La Barr Al Jissah, you will be responsible for preparing and serving high-quality coffee and beverages, providing exceptional customer service, and creating a welcoming atmosphere for guests. You will have a deep knowledge of coffee beans, brewing methods, and the art of coffee making, ensuring each guest enjoys an exceptional and personalized coffee experience.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare and serve a variety of coffee beverages, including espresso, cappuccino, latte, and other specialty drinks, according to the standards of Shangri-La.
Greet guests warmly, take orders efficiently, and provide knowledgeable recommendations on the menu.
Ensure consistency in beverage preparation and presentation, adhering to recipes and quality standards.
Operate coffee equipment, such as espresso machines, grinders, and blenders, ensuring all are maintained in good working condition.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the coffee bar, including stocking of supplies and routine cleaning of equipment.
Manage the inventory of coffee beans, milk, and other supplies, placing orders as needed and minimizing wastage.
Handle cash transactions accurately, including processing payments, providing change, and balancing the cash drawer.
Engage with guests to enhance their experience, answering questions about coffee origins, flavor profiles, and preparation techniques.
Work collaboratively with the rest of the food and beverage team to ensure smooth operation and excellent service delivery.
Adhere to all health, safety, and hygiene standards, ensuring a clean and safe environment for guests and staff.
Stay updated on industry trends, new coffee products, and brewing techniques, and be willing to participate in ongoing training.
Requirements
A diploma or degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
Proven experience as a Barista in a high-end hotel, resort, or specialty coffee shop.
Strong knowledge of coffee beans, brewing methods, and equipment.
Excellent customer service skills with a friendly and approachable demeanor
Good communication skills in English; knowledge of Arabic is a plus.
