MEP ENGINEER/ MANAGER

MEP ENGINEER/ MANAGER JOB DESCRIPTION
Education Requirements:
  • Bachelor degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or equivalent: minimum 3 years of study.
  • Major: Mechanical or Electrical Engineering. Being a member of a professional body is of added advantage.
Should have a minimum 5 years of active working experience in mechanical and/or electrical engineering.
Should be digitally savvy and can build lasting client relationships and provide support to strong, motivated teams.
Should have experience within contracting and consultancy industry.
Expected Salary: NGN 350,000 – NGN 450,000
ROLES:
1. Project coordination: Ensuring that projects are completed on time and within budget, and that the project's goals are met
2. Project management: Managing the project's lifecycle from development to commissioning and handover
3. Quality assurance: Ensuring that projects meet international and local standards, and company’s organizational governance structure
4. Team management: Developing and training a high-performing team, and ensuring that they are motivated and organized
5. Client relations: Acting as a liaison between the client, consultants, and construction contractors
6. Budget management: Preparing project budgets, and monitoring project progress to identify and mitigate risks
7. Design: Developing engineering designs, drawings, and specifications
8. Reporting: Reporting on project progress, and preparing project cost reports
RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Project planning and design:
  • Collaborate with other members of the technical team to develop project plans, including scope, budget, and timeline in accordance with the company goals.
  • Conduct feasibility studies and site assessments to identify potential risks and limitations.
  • Liaise with the MEP consultants for developing the project designs and specifications, ensuring compliance with industry standards and best practices.
  • Ensure seamless implementation of project process in accordance with the organizational governance as developed by the Project Management Office.
  • Scheduling of design reviews at all gateways and control points.
  • Organising and managing technical review team resources and input.
§ Being able to conclude with consultant drawings and designs as per DBR.
2. Project Implementation and Management:
  • Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure timely completion of project milestones.
  • Liaise with inventory and procurement department for proper monitoring/ coordination of materials, ensuring compliance with approved project budgets and specifications.
§ Reviewing the overall status of the MEP works and reporting on the progress of all MEP aspects of the project to relevant stakeholders.
  • Monitor and track project progress, identify and mitigate any issues or risks that may arise.
  • Conduct regular site inspections to ensure construction activities comply with project plans and quality standards.
  • Cooperate with contractors and suppliers to ensure compliance with safety regulations and quality control measures.
3. Quality Assurance and Documentation:
  • Ability to write clear reports, site instructions/memos and meeting minutes that are clear and understandable.
  • Check and ensure the project brief, all design briefs, MEP drawings and specifications and all project relevant information are executed as per client objectives.
  • Develop and implement quality assurance processes to ensure project specifications are met.
  • Conduct regular inspections and audits to verify compliance with industry standards and best practices.
  • Prepare and maintain project documents, including sign offs, progress reports, change requests, completion certificates and specifications.
  • Collaborate with project team to complete post-construction reviews and lessons learned.
3. Team Leadership and Collaboration:
  • Provide guidance and technical support to cross-functional project teams.
  • Foster a collaborative and inclusive work environment by promoting effective communication and knowledge sharing.
  • Mentor and develop junior engineers, promoting their career growth and success.
  • Serves as a subject matter expert, providing technical expertise and guidance during project meetings and presentations.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: ₦350,000.00 - ₦450,000.00 per month
