The Hotel Manager is responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of the hotel, ensuring a high level of guest satisfaction, smooth business operations, and profitability. The role requires a dynamic leader with strong managerial and communication skills and a thorough understanding of the Nigerian hospitality market. Key Responsibilities: Operational Management:
Oversee all aspects of hotel operations, including front office, housekeeping, food and beverage, maintenance, and guest services.
Ensure operational efficiency by monitoring processes and implementing improvements where necessary.
Ensure all hotel departments comply with company policies, brand standards, and local regulations.
Monitor guest feedback and ensure prompt resolution of complaints to maintain high guest satisfaction.
Guest Experience:
Ensure that all guests receive exceptional service from check-in to check-out.
Implement strategies to enhance guest experience, build loyalty, and drive repeat business.
Oversee guest satisfaction surveys and online reviews, making improvements where necessary based on guest feedback.
Handle VIP guests and ensure that their stay is exceptional.
Financial Management:
Assist the General Manager/Owner in preparing and managing the hotel’s budget and financial reports.
Monitor revenues and expenses to ensure profitability, implementing cost-control measures.
Maximize room occupancy and ensure optimal room rates by implementing effective pricing and yield management strategies.
Work closely with the accounting team to ensure timely financial reporting and cash flow management.
Human Resource Management:
Lead and motivate hotel staff, fostering a positive and collaborative working environment.
Oversee the recruitment, training, and development of staff to ensure high levels of service delivery.
Conduct regular performance reviews and provide coaching and development opportunities for hotel employees.
Ensure compliance with labor laws and hotel policies regarding recruitment, compensation, and employee relations.
Sales & Marketing Support:
Work with the sales and marketing team to promote the hotel, attract new guests, and maintain relationships with key clients.
Assist in developing marketing strategies and executing promotional campaigns.
Oversee event planning and execution to ensure operational readiness for conferences, weddings, and other functions.
Build relationships with corporate clients, tour operators, and event organizers to generate business.
Health, Safety & Security:
Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and hygiene standards in line with local and company regulations.
Oversee the maintenance of the hotel’s physical infrastructure, ensuring all facilities and equipment are in good condition.
Implement security measures to safeguard guests, staff, and hotel assets.
Inventory & Supply Management:
Ensure efficient inventory management for all operational departments, including food and beverage, housekeeping, and maintenance.
Coordinate with suppliers to ensure timely procurement of quality supplies at competitive rates.
Monitor stock levels to prevent shortages and ensure cost-effective inventory control.
Reporting & Communication:
Report regularly to the General Manager/Owner on operational performance, financials, and guest satisfaction.
Communicate effectively with department heads and staff to ensure a cohesive team effort.
Provide updates on market trends, competitor activities, and potential business opportunities.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in hospitality management or a similar leadership role.
Strong understanding of the Nigerian hospitality industry and market dynamics.
Proven leadership, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Proficiency in hotel management software and MS Office Suite.
