Front Desk / Customer Care Officer

Ibadan Electricity Distribution Company (IBEDC) Plc - Headquartered in Ibadan is responsible for electricity distribution within the south western zone (Oyo, Ogun, Osun and kwara as well as some parts of Kogi, Ekiti and Niger states). We are an organization with a focus on delivering excellent service to the customers and providing customer satisfaction through reliable power distributions.
We are recruiting to fill the position below:
Job Position: Front Desk / Customer Care Officer
Job Location: Ibadan, Oyo
Job type: Full-time

Job Description


  • This role is critical in managing the reception area, handling customer inquiries, and ensuring smooth communication flow within the company.
  • The Front Desk Officer also assists with administrative tasks and contributes to creating a positive customer experience.
Job Responsibilities
  • Greet and welcome visitors and customers, directing them to the appropriate departments or personnel.
  • Handles service requests (complaints, enquiries and reports) promptly and professionally via phone and in-person and escalates unresolved issues in the relevant department for resolution.
  • Monitors service requests (complaints, enquiries and reports) to closure.
  • Maintain a positive attitude while dealing with customers and employees.
  • Manage incoming and outgoing correspondence, including calls, emails, and deliveries.
  • Maintain a tidy and organized reception area.
  • Manage records of visitors and customers.
  • Monitor and control access to the premises, ensuring only authorized personnel and visitors enter.
  • Collaborate with security personnel to maintain the safety and security of the facility.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements
  • Minimum of an HND or Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Communication, or a related field.
  • 2+ years of experience in a similar role, preferably within a service-oriented or utility company.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and office management software.
