About the Role: We are looking for a dynamic and experienced COO / Deputy COO to lead and manage the operations of their telecom network in Nigeria. The role will be responsible for overseeing a wide range of activities, ensuring delivery of exceptional services to customers while driving growth, improving operational efficiency and achieving financial goals. Looking for candidates with over 20 years of experience in telecom operations, including significant experience at the Circle Head level, the role will lead a large team of more than 2000 employees and be responsible for managing a high-performing network, boosting subscriber growth and optimizing revenue generation.
Key Responsibilities:
Network Operations & Subscriber Growth:
Oversee day-to-day network operations, ensuring we provide a reliable and high-quality experience for all subscribers.
Focus on growing the customer base, setting and meeting monthly targets for subscriber acquisition and revenue generation.
Maintain and enhance the quality of service across all regions, ensuring the network meets customer expectations.
Leadership & Team Management:
Lead and manage a large team of 2000+ employees, ensuring alignment with company objectives and fostering a positive, high-performance work environment.
Set clear expectations for team performance and hold leaders accountable for meeting goals.
Promote collaboration, innovation, and a strong customer-focused culture across the organization.
Revenue & Financial Performance:
Be responsible for meeting financial targets, including achieving monthly revenue goals, EBITDA, and PAT.
Explore and implement strategies to drive revenue, such as new services or initiatives that create additional revenue streams.
Work with the finance team to ensure budget alignment and track financial performance.
Regulatory & Risk Management:
Ensure that all operations comply with local telecom regulations and industry standards.
Manage risks by addressing operational challenges, legal concerns, and regulatory requirements to protect the company’s interests.
Experience:
Minimum of 20 years in telecom operations, with at least 10 years in senior leadership positions (such as Circle Head or similar roles) at a major telecom operator.
A deep understanding of GSM network operations, customer acquisition, service delivery and network management.
Experience managing large, diverse teams and driving cross-functional collaboration.
