Job Summary: We are seeking an experienced and strategic Business Development Manager with over 10 years of expertise to drive our company's growth and expand our market presence. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of developing and executing successful business strategies, building strong relationships with key stakeholders, and identifying new opportunities for revenue generation. This role requires a dynamic leader who can lead cross-functional teams, develop partnerships, and achieve ambitious sales targets.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Planning:
  • Develop and implement comprehensive business development strategies aligned with the company's long-term goals.
  • Identify emerging market trends, competitive dynamics, and customer needs to create actionable growth plans.
  • Collaborate with senior management to set revenue targets and growth objectives.
Market Research and Analysis:
  • Conduct in-depth market research to identify new business opportunities, potential partnerships, and expansion areas.
  • Analyze industry trends, customer behaviors, and competitor activities to inform strategic decisions.
  • Develop and maintain a thorough understanding of the company's products, services, and value propositions.
Partnership and Relationship Management:
  • Build and nurture relationships with key clients, partners, and stakeholders to drive business growth.
  • Negotiate and finalize deals, contracts, and agreements that align with the company's objectives.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for strategic partnerships and alliances.
Sales and Revenue Generation:
  • Lead the business development team in identifying, pursuing, and closing new business deals.
  • Develop and manage a robust sales pipeline to ensure consistent revenue growth.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of sales strategies and adjust as needed to meet targets.
Team Leadership and Development:
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing business development team.
  • Foster a collaborative and results-driven team environment that encourages innovation and continuous improvement.
  • Provide regular feedback and performance evaluations to team members.
Reporting and Performance Monitoring:
  • Track and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) related to business development and sales activities.
  • Prepare regular reports for senior management on progress toward goals, challenges, and opportunities.
  • Ensure all business development activities are aligned with the company's ethical standards and compliance requirements.
Client Engagement and Networking:
  • Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and networking opportunities.
  • Actively engage with potential clients and partners to promote the company's brand and offerings.
  • Maintain a visible presence in the market to enhance the company's reputation and market share.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field. A Master’s degree or MBA is preferred.
  • Over 10 years of experience in business development, sales, or a related role, with a proven track record of achieving and exceeding targets.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills, with experience leading cross-functional teams
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to think strategically and execute methodically, with a strong focus on results.
  • In-depth knowledge of industry trends, market dynamics, and competitive landscape.
  • Proven ability to build and maintain long-term business relationships.
  • Proficiency in CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities.
  • Strong analytical skills with attention to detail.
  • Results-oriented with a focus on achieving and exceeding business objectives.
  • Ability to work independently and lead in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal and networking skills.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: ₦1,200,000.00 - ₦2,000,000.00 per month
