Job Summary: The Assistant Bar Attendant supports the bar staff by maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the bar, assisting in the preparation of drinks, and ensuring a smooth and efficient bar operation. This role involves interacting with guests, replenishing stock, and ensuring that the bar area is well-maintained and fully stocked at all times. Key Responsibilities:
Assist Bartenders: Help bartenders with the preparation and service of beverages, including non-alcoholic drinks, and ensure quick and efficient service.
Stocking Supplies: Regularly replenish and organize bar supplies, including glassware, garnishes, ice, and other necessary items. Ensure that all stock levels are maintained and report any shortages to the Bar Manager.
Cleaning and Maintenance: Keep the bar area clean and tidy at all times. This includes wiping down counters, cleaning glassware, and disposing of waste. Ensure compliance with hygiene and safety standards.
Customer Service: Greet guests warmly and assist with any requests. Help bartenders deliver drinks to guests in a timely and courteous manner.
Inventory Management: Assist with the inventory process by recording the usage of beverages and supplies. Report any discrepancies to the Bar Manager.
Support in Set-up and Breakdown: Assist in setting up the bar area before opening and in cleaning up after closing. This includes arranging seating, setting up drink stations, and ensuring everything is in place for the next shift.
Assist with Special Events: Support the bar staff during special events or high-traffic periods, ensuring that service remains smooth and efficient.
Comply with Regulations: Adhere to all local and state laws regarding the service of alcohol. Ensure that all guests are of legal drinking age before serving alcoholic beverages.
Other Duties as Assigned: Perform any other duties assigned by the Bar Manager or Supervisor to ensure the smooth operation of the bar.
Qualifications:
Experience: Previous experience in a bar, restaurant, or hospitality setting is preferred but not required.
Skills:
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to stand for extended periods.
Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds.
Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Certifications: Food Handler's Permit and/or Alcohol Server Permit may be required depending on local regulations.
