The Opportunity
We are currently seeking a Theatre Co-ordinator.
Working in the Theatre department, reporting to the Theatre Manager, the Theatre Co-ordinator is responsible for co-ordinating Theatre where our surgical procedures include cardiothoracic surgery, orthopaedics, spinal, general and paediatrics, urology, plastics, maxillo facial, ENT and dental. This is a key senior role in Theatre, responsible for providing clinical and nursing leadership across our Theatre team and ensuring efficient co-ordination of resources to support an outstanding experience for our specialist, patients, and team.
To be successful in this role you will:
- Be a team player who understands that relationships are key to effective and efficient co-ordination of services, and has the ability to tailor their approach for different audiences;
- Have at least three years relevant clinical experience in NZ and a strong understanding of medico-legal and ethical responsibilities is critical;
- Demonstrate awareness and application of AORN standards;
- Have a keen eye for continuous improvement and enhancing quality;
- Have excellent verbal and written skills; effective communication is key to ensuring a highly co-ordinated Theatre team; and
- Have a high level of organisation and good time management skills.
