SPATIAL ANALYST

Mō te tūranga | About the role

  • Undertake requests for spatial information and provide outputs in a variety of formats (such as map production and data provision) to various internal and external customers.
  • Carry out spatial analysis to meet the information needs of various internal and external customers.
  • Maintain and create relevant data sets and metadata to Waikato Regional Council standards.
  • Provide backup support for Spatial Information and Data Management Team members as required.
  • Provide Spatial Information support for corporate and/or regional collaboration projects requiring spatial analysis, as required.

Mō ngā pūkenga | Qualifications and experience

  • Tertiary qualification in GIS, geography, computer science or information technology or 3 years’ experience in a similar role.
  • Demonstratable knowledge, experience and understanding of Arc GIS products.
  • Proven knowledge and experience of Office 365.
  • Excellent communication skills – written and verbal.
  • Proven success at building relationships and resolving issues with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Political awareness and skill in dealing with sensitive and confidential issues.

  • You will be part of a talented team made up of Spatial Analysts and Data Management Analysts who have a great can-do attitude, team spirit and a sense of fun.
  • The team sits within the Spatial Information Section.
