Senior Nature Guide – Te Anau Glowworm Caves
Real NZ is looking for a passionate and experienced Senior Nature Guide to join our Te Anau Caves team. In this role, you will work closely with the Nature Guide Manager and the Experience Manager to ensure smooth operations, high safety standards, and exceptional guest experiences. You'll be responsible for training and supervising Nature Guides, ensuring they are well-prepared to deliver informative and engaging tours. Your role will include recruiting, rostering, and providing first aid when needed. You'll also be expected to make key operational decisions, especially in challenging conditions like high water.
As a senior guide, you'll deliver insightful commentary on local fauna, flora, and history, ensuring our visitors have a memorable experience. Your commitment to upholding food safety and maintaining clean service areas will contribute to the overall guest experience.

Hourly rate: $26.50 - $28.50
Guaranteed hours per week: 30

As a senior guide, you'll deliver insightful commentary on local fauna, flora, and history, ensuring our visitors have a memorable experience. Your commitment to upholding food safety and maintaining clean service areas will contribute to the overall guest experience.
What you'll need:
- At least 3 years experience in commercial guiding (caves experience preferred)
- Experience in track guiding or delivering educational tours
- A current First Aid certificate
- Strong knowledge of Health & Safety regulations
- Experience in planning and reviewing risks and SOPs
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to lead and train a team
- Enthusiasm, attention to detail, and a collaborative spirit.
- In-depth knowledge of local flora, fauna and history
- Outdoor emergency services certification
- A Class 2 Licence with P Endorsement
- Outdoor education qualification
- Permanent Full-Time role
