About the role
Bell Gully’s Financial Services team is looking for a senior lawyer to join its Wellington office. You will join a team that is regarded as the market leading financial services practice in New Zealand, and is known for its commercial approach, with specialist expertise in corporate and acquisition finance, infrastructure and project finance and derivatives and structured finance.
The team advises leading corporates, infrastructure sponsors, banks, non-bank lenders, and investment banks, together with major domestic and international corporate enterprises across a range of industries. All of our partners have practised as financial services lawyers in either Europe or New York.
We are looking for people who want to be involved in market-leading transactions, build meaningful client relationships and deliver innovative legal services.
Experience and qualifications
- A law degree.
- 7+ years of quality banking and finance experience, preferably including in private practice in New Zealand.
- The ability to work collaboratively in a dynamic environment.
- Broad experience in transactional work and managing teams.
- Experience in structured finance, securitisation and/or derivatives would be an advantage
