Are you passionate about supporting and improving the health and wellbeing of whānau and their tamariki?
If you’re a Registered Nurse looking for something different, we have a telehealth opportunity for you. Our Plunket Line service are currently recruiting for permanent positions, we are able to consider both full time and part time applicants.
We are currently recruiting for the following shifts - one is overnight from 12.15am – 8.15am and the other is from 3.30pm – 7.30pm. If you’re available for these hours (or close to), we’d love to hear from you. You’ll be rewarded for your efforts with penal rates.
Our changing world has meant that the majority of our team are working from home, so you can be based anywhere in New Zealand. We have call centres in Auckland and Wellington if you are based in these locations and would like a hybrid working arrangement. As long as you have fast-fibre and a private space, we can provide the training you need to join our team.


Te Whiwhinga mahi | The opportunity

As part of our Plunket Line team, you’ll provide incoming callers with clinical advice and support to families and whānau in New Zealand with children under five. Underpinned by our Whānau Āwhina values and commitment to pro equity, we deliver a quality service experience 24/7.
Our Nurses provide support and guidance to whānau whenever they need, which means that you spend your work day reassuring and educating parents and caregivers to deliver the best care possible to their pēpi and tamariki. You’ll provide assessment, support, guidance to whānau wherever they need it on all parts of their parenting journey including well and unwell child, breast feeding and nutrition, sleep and behaviour support.
Due to the nature of our service and the need to be available for whānau, flexibility is often limited, so you’ll be happy to be adaptable with the timing of your breaks.
Our salaries are between $62,911 ($31.84 per hour) and $90,099 ($45.60 per hour) depending on experience.


He kōrero mōu | About you

The excitement of this role is that you never really know what the next call will be about! We’re looking for Nurses who can listen to understand, think on their feet, communicate with empathy and build positive relationships with ease. Because you can’t see your caller, you’ll be able to paint a mental picture of what you’re hearing to then be able to offer tailored support.
Of course, your resilience and emotional intelligence will also be what helps you to truly excel. At times, our callers can be reaching out in their time of need, so you will be able to put people at ease, provide reassurance and communicate clinical information to a variety of audiences.
Advancing our pro-equity journey requires the participation and contribution of all our Plunket People, to support this, all of our staff participate in “be a better treaty partner” training “. Prior understanding of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and its applications as well as equity issues related to health (in particular for whānau Māori) would be advantageous in our organisation.
