For this role, you must have:
The minimum of a New Zealand Certificate in Horticulture Services (Level 3) Amenity or similar qualification
At least two years’ experience with Shrubberies and Perennial garden maintenance. Attention to detail with a good knowledge of amenity plants
Current
Full
New Zealand Driver Licence
Experience in the preparation and application of agrichemicals
Knowledge and experience of the use and maintenance of general tools, plant and equipment including RTV and spray equipment
Good understanding and experience to identify and control plant pests and diseases
Physically fit and the ability to work independently
An understanding of Health and Safety requirements working in this industry
Good knowledge of amenity plants

What’s the pay?
The role starts at $27.80 per hour but could be negotiated depending on experience and quals.

Daily maintenance of mixed shrubberies
Weed control - spray herbicides - remove fungicide and insecticide
Assist the wider team at times
This job is for you if you are:
Open and honest – you have a good understanding of yourself and others around you and able to give and take feedback
Someone who places great importance on maintaining their work relationships
Versatile – able to fill in when other staff are away in the wider team and fill in for their Leading Hand at times
Adaptive in thinking – able to adjust parks maintenance schedules accordingly
Focused to detail and anticipate problems - has a flare for garden landscaping and is creative and confident in enhancing established gardens
A great manager of time who is action orientated, steady and reliable
Experienced with operating irrigation systems

This job isn’t for you if you:
Lack experience and knowledge in amenity plant and garden maintenance
Aren’t flexible and don’t like to step out of your comfort zone
