The Strategy and Optimisation Data and Analytics (SODA) team are looking for a both a Principal Data Engineer and Data Engineer to play pivotal roles in driving the success of SODA and ultimately help shape the future of data-driven decision-making.
Reporting into Head of Analytics Engineering, both opportunities will see you building scalable, reliable data pipelines that meet the diverse needs of our Global Markets, Innovation & Brand (I&B), and Strategy & Optimization (S&O) business units. In addition:
Data Engineer
- Design, Develop & Implement cloud-based ETL/ELT solutions
- Build, Monitor & Maintain data ingestion pipelines, ensuring SQL/Python scripts/services are running smoothly
- Work closely with data and business owners to ensure current and future state requirements are well defined, mapped & clearly communicated
- Provide technical guidance to the wider teams in order to help design data solutions, automating manual processes, troubleshooting & problem solving
- Help advocate for and implement best practices for our data handling and governance.
Principal Data Engineer
- Guide and mentor our SODA Data Engineers, steering the design and delivery of cutting-edge data products and services.
- Set the standard for excellence in data engineering, ensuring the effective use of analytics tools and driving innovation in data pipeline development.
The level of appointment will reflect experience and demonstrable track record. Applications from Data and Principal Data Engineer level will be considered.
About you | Ko wai koe
You will have a strong knowledge of Data process Lifecycle, Data Engineering principles, and expertise in engineering and architecting data analytics solutions in SQL, MS Azure and/or AWS platforms.
You’ll excel at bridging the gap between business needs and technical execution. With a keen ability to assess and translate complex analytics business cases into actionable technical guidelines, you ensure that strategic objectives are met with precision.
Communication is key as you collaborate closely with a wide variety of stakeholders, business units and technical experts. You’ll be reliable, approachable, and be able to identify, and provide solutions to the wider business to keep Fonterra moving forward. You’ll be comfortable working in a small team remotely and in person.
